Custom Stainless Steel Compression Spring for the Agricultural Industry
A client in the agricultural industry came to AARD Spring & Stamping in need of a compression spring that would replace one previously used. The spring to be replaced was causing difficulties for the customer, due to tangling. We worked closely with our client on this project, designing a superior product that would not tangle as the other one had done.
The compression spring we produced was .455 inches long, had an O.D of Ø.330 inches, and an I.D. of Ø.266 inches. It was made of 302 stainless steel. We worked within a tolerance of ±.005 inches/load. The spring featured a closed coil in the center.
The client was extremely pleased with the new compression spring, which did not tangle, and as a result, their assembly time was reduced significantly. The customer commissioned us to produce 3 million units annually, with monthly deliveries.
